Job Summary
The Draftsman is responsible for preparing, updating, and maintaining accurate technical drawings and layouts related to building structures, MEP systems, and facilities assets. The role supports property and facilities operations by ensuring that all design documentation, as-built drawings, and layout plans are current, clear, and compliant with operational and safety standards
AREA OF RESPONSIBILITY & BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF ACTIVITIES
Drafting & Design Preparation
Prepare detailed architectural, structural, and MEP drawings for facility layouts, modifications, and maintenance works.
Update floor plans, equipment layouts, and utilities drawings based on site changes or renovation projects.
Ensure drawings reflect accurate dimensions, scaling, and technical details according to design standards.
As-Built & Documentation Management
Develop and maintain up-to-date as-built drawings for all facilities and building systems.
Organize and archive drawing files, ensuring easy access and version control.
Incorporate feedback from engineers, maintenance teams, or contractors into revised drawings.
Coordination & Site Support
Coordinate with facility engineers, maintenance supervisors, and contractors to collect design data and confirm on-site measurements.
Conduct site visits to verify existing conditions and take field measurements when required.
Support project planning by providing updated layout drawings and space allocation plans
Compliance & Standards
Adhere to company drafting standards and ensure alignment with applicable building codes and regulations.
Verify that all drawings meet operational, safety, and quality requirements.
Assist in preparing documentation for audits, certifications, and compliance reporting
Facility & Asset Integration
Support the integration of asset data and spatial layouts into CAFM or Building Management Systems (BMS).
Ensure all updates to facility layouts are synchronized with digital facility management platforms.
Prepare drawings for fit-out works, maintenance planning, and energy management initiatives.
Project Support
Assist facility and project managers in preparing technical drawings for renovation, space planning, and infrastructure upgrades.
Provide visual documentation for tendering, estimation, and approval purposes.
Participate in project meetings to clarify design and layout requirements.
Job requirements
To be successful as a Draftsman, candidates should demonstrate strong technical drafting, organizational, and coordination skills to support facilities, property, and building projects. The role involves preparing, updating, and maintaining accurate architectural, MEP, and civil drawings, managing as-built documentation, and coordinating with engineers, maintenance teams, and contractors to ensure timely, compliant, and high-quality project delivery.
Key Qualifications & Skills
High School, Diploma, or Certificate in Civil, Architectural, or MEP Drafting, or related technical field
Minimum 0–1 year of experience as a Draughtsman in facilities management, property maintenance, or construction
Proficient in AutoCAD; knowledge of Revit or similar software is an advantage
Strong understanding of MEP, civil, and architectural drawings
Ability to interpret technical specifications and prepare clear, accurate drawings
Skilled in as-built drawing preparation, space planning, and facility layouts
Strong documentation, revision control, and organizational skills
Able to coordinate with engineers, maintenance teams, and contractors for site measurements and layout updates
Detail-oriented, with accountability, adaptability, and a result-oriented mindset
Supports integration of drawings into CAFM or BMS platforms and assists in project planning, renovations, and maintenance initiatives
