Job Summary

The ELV Project Engineer is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing Extra Low Voltage (ELV) systems works across construction projects. This role ensures ELV systems are delivered in accordance with project specifications, timelines, quality standards, and safety requirements, while coordinating with internal teams, subcontractors, and consultants.

AREA OF RESPONSIBILITY & BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF ACTIVITIES

Project Planning & Execution

  • Plan and manage ELV system works including CCTV, Access Control, Structured Cabling, SMATV, BMS interfaces, PA/GA, and other low current systems.

  • Review project drawings, specifications, and scope to ensure accurate execution.

  • Prepare method statements, shop drawings, material submittals, and work schedules.

  • Monitor daily site activities to ensure ELV works progress as per approved plans.

Site Coordination & Supervision

  • Coordinate with civil, MEP, IT, and main contractor teams to align ELV works with overall project schedules.

  • Supervise subcontractors and technicians to ensure quality and productivity.

  • Attend site meetings and provide technical inputs related to ELV systems.

  • Resolve site issues, clashes, and technical queries promptly

Quality Control & Testing

  • Ensure installation complies with approved drawings, specifications, and international standards.

  • Conduct inspections, testing, and commissioning of ELV systems

  • Prepare inspection reports, test results, and as-built documentation.

  • Coordinate with consultants and clients for inspections and approvals

Material & Cost Control

  • Assist in material planning, procurement coordination, and inventory tracking.

  • Monitor material usage to minimize wastage and control costs.

  • Support variation orders and additional scope documentation when required

Health, Safety & Compliance

  • Ensure ELV works comply with HSE policies and site safety regulations.

  • Promote safe work practices and ensure proper use of PPE on site.

  • Ensure compliance with local authority requirements and project specifications.

Job requirements

To be successful as an ELV Project Engineer, candidates should demonstrate strong technical, coordination, and project execution skills to support ELV system delivery within construction environments. The role involves planning, supervising, and executing ELV works across CCTV, Access Control, Structured Cabling, SMATV, BMS interfaces, and other low-current systems, while coordinating with site teams, subcontractors, consultants, and main contractors to ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, and compliant with safety and quality standards.

Key Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Electronics, Telecommunications Engineering, or related field

  • Minimum 4–6 years of experience in ELV systems within construction or engineering projects

  • Valid SIRA / ADMCC certifications are required

  • Strong technical knowledge of CCTV, Access Control, Structured Cabling, SMATV, PA/GA, BMS interfaces, and fiber/low-current systems

  • Skilled in testing, commissioning, and system integration activities

  • Ability to read technical drawings, schematics, and project specifications

  • Experienced in coordinating with main contractor, MEP, and civil teams for alignment and system interfacing

  • Strong supervision skills to manage subcontractors and technicians on-site

  • Proficient in documentation, material submittals, inspections, and as-built reporting

  • Demonstrates accountability, adaptability, problem-solving, and a result-oriented mindset

  • Ensures compliance with HSE, project standards, and authority regulations throughout execution
