Royal Joinery has its own dedicated Factory to assist clients on high profile projects that require international expertise and a degree of workmanship that eliminates the need to source sub-contractors and third-party furniture suppliers. Our primary focus is on carpentry and woodwork specialties across a wide variety of projects and sectors through the delivery of sophisticated qualified experts in their field and innovative techniques and equipment.

As the Fit-out, Joinery Estimator is responsible for accurately estimating the costs associated with joinery and wood factory projects. This role involves analyzing project requirements, conducting material assessments, evaluating production processes, evaluation and gathering market prices and preparing detailed cost estimates. The Joinery Estimator plays an essential role in supporting project planning, budgeting, and decision-making processes specific to joinery and woodworking projects.

AREA OF RESPONSIBILITY

• Analyzing project drawings, specifications, and scope of works
• Collaborating with Design and Technical Team to clarify project details and specifications.
  
• Conducting comprehensive material assessments and sourcing materials.
  
• Evaluating production processes and labor requirements.
  
• Preparing detailed and accurate cost estimates for joinery projects.
  
• Reviewing and comparing supplier quotes for materials and components.
  
• Participating in project meetings to provide cost-related insights.
  
• Contributing to value engineering discussions to optimize costs.
  
• Maintaining a repository of cost information and historical data.
  
• Researching and sourcing materials from suppliers to obtain accurate pricing.
• Carry out cost breakdown based on project scope and complexity.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF ACTIVITIES

• Review project documentation including drawings, specifications, and scope of works
• Collaborate with Design and Technical Team to clarify joinery requirements.
  
• Conduct material assessments, quantify required materials and sourcing materials in coordination with Procurement Team.
  
• Evaluate production processes and labor needs based on project scope.
  
• Prepare comprehensive cost estimates, encompassing materials, labor, and overhead & profit.
  
• Compare quotes from suppliers for materials and components.
  
• Participate in project meetings to contribute cost-related insights.
  
• Collaborate with production and project teams to optimize costs and maintain quality.
  
• Maintain organized records of estimates and cost-related data.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION

• Bachelor’s degree in architecture, Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Woodworking Technology, or a related field is preferred.
• Relevant experience and specialized training in joinery estimation may be considered in lieu of formal education.

     MINIMUM EXPERIENCE

• A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in joinery estimation, woodworking, or a related field.
• Familiarity with CNC machinery and woodworking techniques is advantageous.

• Proficiency in interpreting joinery and woodworking drawings and specifications.
• In-depth understanding of joinery and woodworking materials and processes.
• Excellent mathematical and analytical skills for accurate cost calculations.
• Knowledge of local and outsource suppliers and their pricing.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills.
• Attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Knowledge of safety regulations in joinery and woodworking..
