Job description
Royal Joinery has its own dedicated workshop to assist clients on high-profile projects that require international expertise and a degree of workmanship that eliminates the need to source subcontractors and third-party furniture suppliers. Our primary focus is on carpentry and woodwork specialties across various projects and sectors through the delivery of sophisticated, qualified experts in their field and innovative techniques and equipment.
We are seeking a skilled Interior Designer to create creative and technically sound design solutions for joinery-focused fit-out projects. The role involves translating client requirements into detailed concepts, layouts, and specifications, while coordinating with architects, joinery draughtsman, and project teams to ensure high-quality and accurate project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Conceptual Design
Develop and present interior design concepts that align with the client’s vision, balancing functionality, aesthetics, and cultural relevance.Space Planning
Analyze spatial requirements and develop optimized layouts for interior (and where applicable, exterior) spaces, ensuring efficient flow, accessibility, and user comfort.Construction Documentation
Prepare detailed drawings, specifications, and design documentation for construction, ensuring compliance with local building codes, regulations, and project standards.Material & Finish Selection
Select appropriate materials, finishes, furniture, and fixtures that enhance the overall design concept, with particular attention to durability, maintenance, and luxury project requirements.Collaboration & Coordination
Work closely with clients, contractors, engineers, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure cohesive project development. Participate in regular coordination meetings to manage expectations and resolve design-related issues.Project Management
Oversee the interior design process from inception to completion, including coordination of timelines, budgeting inputs, and adherence to project schedules.Cultural Sensitivity
Incorporate local architectural styles and cultural elements into designs, particularly for projects within the Middle East, ensuring contextual and culturally appropriate outcomes.Sustainability
Implement sustainable design practices and eco-friendly materials where possible, aligning with modern design principles and growing sustainability requirements.Trend & Market Research
Stay updated on emerging design trends, materials, technologies, and industry best practices to deliver innovative and contemporary design solutions.Client Liaison
Maintain continuous communication with clients to provide progress updates, gather feedback, and ensure overall satisfaction throughout the design and construction phases.
Skills & Competencies
Strong design and space planning skills
Knowledge of materials, finishes, and luxury interiors
Familiarity with local building codes and regulations
Excellent coordination and communication skills
Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
Cultural awareness and sensitivity

Job requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design or related field
Minimum 4 years of experience in interior fit-out projects
Strong knowledge of joinery, materials, and finishes
Proficient in AutoCAD and relevant design software
Good coordination and communication skills
