The UASG owns and operates a diverse yet complementary portfolio of six UAE-based companies encompassing several key industry sectors, which includes Abu Dhabi Motors, Dalma Motors, Al Saqer Heavy Equipment, Al Saqer Property Management, Royal International Construction, and Royal Joinery.
We are recruiting a Senior Network Administrator who shall be responsible for managing, maintaining, and securing enterprise network infrastructure across multiple locations of United Al Saqer Group (UASG). The role oversees end-to-end network operations including LAN/WAN infrastructure, wireless networking, and cloud connectivity, ensuring high availability, optimal performance, and robust security of the corporate network. The position also supports the implementation of modern networking technologies such as SD-WAN for branch connectivity and next-generation wireless standards (Wi-Fi 6/7). The Senior Network Administrator will proactively monitor network performance, enforce security controls, and collaborate with vendors and internal IT teams to maintain a scalable, resilient, and secure networking environment.
AREA OF RESPONSIBILITY:
Network Infrastructure Operations:
Manage and support UASG’s network infrastructure across all locations including LAN and WAN networks.
Maintain routers, switches, and structured cabling to ensure reliable connectivity.
Perform network configuration, upgrades, and firmware patch management.
Conduct capacity planning and optimize network performance to ensure low latency and high throughput for business applications.
Wireless Networking (Wi-Fi):
Manage enterprise wireless networks including Wireless LAN Controllers and access points.
Ensure strong Wi-Fi coverage, connectivity, and security across offices and facilities.
Plan and implement upgrades such as Wi-Fi 6 to Wi-Fi 7 to support higher speeds and lower latency.
Apply best practices for wireless network design including SSID management, channel planning, and RF optimization.
Latest Technology Implementation (SD-WAN & Network Trends):
Design and implement SD-WAN solutions to improve wide-area network efficiency and reliability.
Evaluate emerging networking technologies such as network virtualization, automation, and zero-trust network access.
Recommend upgrades and modern networking tools to enhance performance, scalability, and security.
Stay updated on industry advancements and propose improvements aligned with business needs.
Network Security & Compliance:
Configure and manage enterprise firewall systems such as Check Point, Palo Alto, or similar platforms.
Maintain intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS) and VPN connectivity.
Implement firewall policies, VLAN segmentation, and access control lists to secure network infrastructure.
Monitor security logs and alerts to detect and respond to potential threats.
Coordinate with cybersecurity teams to conduct vulnerability assessments and remediate security risks.
Cloud Networking & Remote Access:
Integrate on-premises network infrastructure with cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure and AWS.
Configure and maintain secure connectivity through site-to-site VPN, ExpressRoute, or Direct Connect solutions.
Support remote connectivity solutions including VPN or secure access frameworks.
Ensure remote access solutions meet organizational security and performance standards.
Network Monitoring & Performance Management:
Utilize network monitoring tools such as SolarWinds, PRTG, or similar platforms.
Monitor bandwidth usage, network performance, and system reliability.
Identify and resolve network bottlenecks, latency issues, or hardware failures proactively.
Track key performance indicators including uptime, latency, and packet loss.
Provide regular network performance reports to IT management.
Troubleshooting & Support:
Serve as the primary escalation point for complex network issues and outages.
Diagnose and resolve network problems across LAN, WAN, SD-WAN, and wireless environments.
Coordinate with vendors, service providers, and internal teams during incident resolution.
Maintain incident logs and perform root cause analysis for major network disruptions.
Implement corrective measures to prevent recurring issues.
Network Documentation & Planning:
Maintain updated network documentation including diagrams, IP address schemes, and configuration records.
Document network changes and update knowledge bases accordingly.
Plan and execute network-related projects such as branch deployments and firewall upgrades.
Support IT infrastructure planning and budget recommendations with the Service Delivery Manager.
Collaboration & Vendor Management:
Work collaboratively with IT teams including system administrators and security specialists.
Coordinate with ISPs, vendors, and contractors for procurement and installation of networking equipment.
Monitor vendor performance and ensure compliance with service level agreements (SLAs).
Support evaluation of vendor proposals and network service offerings.
Job requirements
QUALIFICATIONS & CERTIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE (MANDATORY & PREFERRED):
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Electronics/Communications Engineering or a related field. Equivalent work experience combined with relevant certifications will also be considered
Minimum 4-6 years of professional experience in network administration or network engineering roles.
Proven experience managing routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless networking infrastructure in a multi-site environment.
Experience with network design, deployment, monitoring, and day-to-day operations.
Exposure to cloud networking platforms such as Microsoft Azure or AWS and hybrid connectivity solutions is highly desirable.
Professional certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent are preferred.
SKILLS & COMPETENCIES (Technical, Behavioral, and Soft):
Technical Skills:
Advanced knowledge of enterprise networking technologies and security frameworks.
Understanding of software-defined networking (SDN), network automation tools, and scripting (Python, Ansible).
Experience with SD-WAN solutions, wireless enterprise networking, and network monitoring platforms.
Ability to plan and implement network infrastructure projects and upgrades.
Experience managing ISP relationships and network equipment vendors.
Familiarity with ITIL service management practices is advantageous.
