Job description
Tax Analyst is responsible for supporting VAT, excise tax, and other indirect tax compliance and advisory functions within the UAE. The role ensures accurate and timely tax reporting, supports audits and regulatory submissions, and provides strategic insights on indirect tax matters. The position plays a key role in optimizing tax processes, minimizing risk exposure, and ensuring alignment with applicable UAE tax regulations and Federal Tax Authority (FTA) requirements.
Indirect Tax Compliance & Reporting:
Assist in the preparation, review, and filing of VAT and excise tax returns in accordance with UAE tax laws.
Ensure timely and accurate submission of tax returns to the Federal Tax Authority (FTA).
Perform VAT reconciliations, validate input and output VAT, and maintain accurate tax records.
Support tax audits, assessments, and preparation of responses to FTA inquiries.
Maintain documentation to ensure audit readiness and regulatory compliance.
Tax Advisory & Risk Management:
Monitor updates to UAE VAT and excise tax regulations and assess their impact on business operations.
Provide guidance on VAT treatment of transactions, exemptions, zero-rating, and Free Zone tax implications.
Assist in reviewing business contracts for VAT implications and ensuring compliance with local tax laws.
Support internal teams with tax planning, structuring, and risk mitigation strategies.
Identify potential tax risks and recommend corrective actions.
Process Optimization & System Improvements:
Assist in automating VAT reporting processes and improving ERP tax configurations.
Collaborate with finance and IT teams to ensure accurate tax coding and reporting in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
Identify process inefficiencies in indirect tax workflows and recommend improvements.
Support implementation of internal controls related to tax compliance.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Management:
Partner with finance, procurement, and legal teams to ensure tax compliance across business units.
Conduct internal tax awareness sessions to improve understanding of VAT requirements.
Coordinate with external tax consultants and advisors on complex tax matters.
Provide management with insights on indirect tax performance and compliance status.
Job requirements
QUALIFICATIONS & CERTIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or related field.
Minimum 2–4 years of relevant indirect tax experience, preferably within the UAE.
Hands-on experience in VAT reporting, reconciliations, and tax audit support is required
