Job Summary:
The Treasury Accountant is responsible for managing and monitoring the company’s cash flow, banking transactions, and treasury operations within the Property Management division. The role ensures efficient utilization of funds, accurate financial recording, timely execution of payments, and compliance with internal controls and banking regulations. The Treasury Accountant works closely with the Accounts Manager and Finance team to maintain liquidity, support financial planning, and optimize cash management for ongoing operational and project needs.
AREA OF RESPONSIBILITY & BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF ACTIVITIES:
Cash Flow Management
Monitor and manage daily cash balances to ensure adequate liquidity for operational and project expenses.
Prepare weekly and monthly cash flow forecasts in coordination with the Accounts Manager.
Track inflows and outflows of funds, ensuring alignment with budgeted projections.
Banking Operations
Handle all banking transactions including fund transfers, deposits, withdrawals, and bank reconciliations.
Prepare payment instructions, ensure proper authorization, and maintain transaction accuracy.
Liaise with banks regarding account management, signatory updates, and financial correspondence.
Payment & Fund Management
Coordinate with the Accounts Payable team to plan and prioritize vendor and supplier payments.
Manage intercompany fund transfers and ensure timely settlement of financial obligations.
Record and monitor all treasury-related journal entries in the accounting system.
Reconciliation & Reporting
Perform regular bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies promptly.
Prepare treasury reports including daily bank positions, cash movement summaries, and fund utilization reports.
Support month-end and year-end financial closings related to treasury activities.
Compliance & Internal Controls
Ensure adherence to internal financial policies, authorization limits, and control procedures.
Maintain compliance with company and banking regulatory requirements.
Support internal and external audits by providing necessary treasury documentation
Financial Coordination & Support
Collaborate with the Accounts Receivable team for timely deposit of collections and customer receipts.
Support the finance department in preparing forecasts and financial plans.
Identify opportunities for improving cash flow efficiency and minimizing banking charges.
Job requirements
To be successful in this role as a Treasury Accountant, candidates should demonstrate strong financial acumen, analytical capability, and the ability to manage cash flow and treasury activities efficiently within a property management environment. The role requires high accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance with internal controls and banking regulations to support financial planning and operational liquidity.
Key Qualifications & Skills:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce (Professional certifications such as CPA, ACCA, CMA, or CTP are an advantage)
Minimum 2–4 years of experience in accounting, treasury, or accounts payable functions, preferably within property, facilities, or construction industries
Strong understanding of cash flow management, banking operations, and treasury processes
Proficiency in ERP/accounting systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP, QuickBooks) and online banking platforms
Ability to prepare cash flow forecasts, monitor liquidity, and support fund planning
Skilled in bank reconciliations, fund transfers, vendor payments, and intercompany settlements
Familiarity with internal controls, compliance standards, and audit documentation requirements
Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail and confidentiality
Effective communication and coordination abilities to work with finance teams, banks, and vendors
Demonstrates ownership, reliability, and the ability to work independently and meet deadlines
Positive team collaboration skills, adaptability to changing financial requirements, and a proactive approach to improving treasury efficiency
